Belt High School High School Basketball Guidelines 2020-2021 The ability of schools to stay open and teams to take the field/court relies on all of us being socially responsible. We are asking that all fans do their part. If you are sick, stay home. If you come out to support the teams, please help us by following the guidelines below. 1. Activities in the gym are limited capacity to allow for social distancing. This includes 6 spectators per home players, 2 spectators per cheerleader, 2 spectators per manager, and 2 spectators per coach. Opposing teams are allowed 2 spectators per home player and 2 spectators per coach. 2. The visiting team must submit their list the day before games are to be played. 3. There is a designated area for “visitor only” seating. Entrances are marked to encourage social distancing. 4. Home and visiting spectators will be required to wear a mask, sit in family/household pods and practice safe physical distancing (6 feet) from other pods. MASKS ARE REQUIRED! 5. Children Grade 8 and under must be seated with their parents while attending the contest. 6. We ask parents of Varsity players wait until the Varsity game to enter the gym. This will help with social distancing. 7. Those family members that are health compromised, over the age of 65, or are exhibiting COVID symptoms are asked to stay home but are encouraged to watch the broadcast online on the NFHS Network. 8. Event workers will wear masks. Ticket takers will wear masks and gloves. They will change their gloves throughout the event as well as sanitizing the area and washing their hands. 9. Sanitizing stations will be made available at the entrance and throughout the gym area and it will be suggested throughout the games from the announcer that spectators are washing and sanitizing their hands. 10. No concessions will be offered. 11. All players, managers, and coaches are required to wear a face covering while not actively participating in the competition. 12. All game day operations required by the MHSA are followed. Wipes are available to clean the game ball. National Anthem and pre-game introductions are held, but teams will not shake hands with the opposing players, coaches, or officials. All other pre-game protocol set forth by the MHSA are followed. 13. Per MHSA Rules: Any MHSA activity participant who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 cannot return to play until he/she is evaluated by a licensed healthcare professional, and has written clearance to return to play. 15. Teams must bring their own towels for the bench and showering. 15. Teams must bring their own water bottles for each player. 16. The ticket gate will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the first game to allow the parents of JV girls’ players to bring their child to the game on time. 17. All games will be streamed live through the NFHS Network.

Highwood Spectator Guidelines for Tuesday, January 12 Basketball Game: We are allowing two people per athlete, manager, and coach. If someone doesn't use their two spots they can share them with other people. We need a list from you of all your players, managers, coaches names and who is attending under each name. When fans come to the game they need to tell the ticket taker who they are under so we can check them off. We have concessions and will provide towels as well.
